Ardmair Bay

Ardmair Bay

Ardmair is a small crofting hamlet on the shores of Loch Kanaird approximately 3 miles from Ullapool. On the right hand side of the Bay sits The Isle of Martin, which until 1999 was owned by the RSPB and therefore unaccessable to the public. On the 3rd May 1999 it was gifted to the local community who have formed a charitable trust to manage the upkeep and development of the Island. A passenger ferry, manned by volunteers, runs to the Island from Ardmair on Saturdays and Wednesday evenings to allow access to the Island. Visitors to the island during the nesting season are requested to avoid the areas marked on the Trusts leaflet. For more information on the Island visit the The Isle of Martin Trust website

Ardmair Point

At the point of the Bay is situated Ardmair Point Caravan Site . The caravan site is open during the holiday seasons and has a shop which is open to the general public.

A public telephone box is situated at the entrance to the site.
